Seems just like yesterday when I saw this country boy singing "Baby lock 'em doors" to the AI judges. From that moment, I knew that I would love him. I would never forget that charming smile and that super duper low and manly voice that I'm really looking for in a guy. He was the reason I managed to continue watching American Idol Season 10 amidst my tight schedule. And, he never disappointed his fans. He was the frontrunner of the show and never even landed in the bottom two, technically. At the age of 17, he became the youngest AI winner. who else? The man who's in-it-to-win-it, SCOTTY MCCREERY
Undeniably, Season 10 was the season of unique talents, personalities and shocking happenings. First. the new judges where introduced, where it was quite a shocker that the common player in the game was gone, Simon Cowell. Almost everybody thought that he was a great loss in the idol industry since he was the one that brought spice to the show. But, after his resignation the idol audience where in for a big surprise. They've introduced a very gutsy judge, Steve Tyler and well the most beautiful woman in the world, Jennifer Lopez. Of course, everybody still loves the idol veteran, Randy Jackson who was never afraid to criticize the contestants. Jimmy Lovine also proved that this season would be an exceptional one.
Then there's the contestants who we definitely love. Honestly, I loved Scotty Mccreery ever since he stepped onto that idol auditions. He was just a cute little thing, so adorable. :) Also, almost all in the Filipino community supported our fellow, Thia Megia who also didn't disappoint amidst her young age. Top contenders where also Pia Toscano (awarded the Most shocking elimination award), Jacob Lusk (who walks and dances like he's a DIVA. jk :), James Durbin, (the guy diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome but defiinitely rocks the stage every time he's in it), Paul Mcdonald (whose floral outfits give him the slightest edge, definitely not for me though hahaha) and the love birds, Casey Abrams and Haley Reindhart who sang uniquely and so good together.

The top 2 finalists were young, and country performers. Hmmm. I think America rooted for Country this season. Or maybe, these two are just full of charisma and talent. No one should doubt that.
Honestly, although I was rooting for Scotty at the beginning, I couldn't deny that I never expected him to win the title. All he had was his charm and the deep bass voice girls would definitely love. This put a meager advantage to those contestants who really wowed the audience for hitting high notes like Jacob Lusk, James Durbin and Pia Toscano. But, like what I've said, Scotty was a frontrunner and he improved week after week, listening to the advices of the judges as well as from Jimmy. He learned to step up and break his personal barriers. His stage presence was felt even more. And while he excelled in the country genre, he ventured out of his comfort zone and surprised every fan. The mark of a true artist as Steven Tyler would say. <3 And, who would have missed his homecoming, it was definitely the most sincere moments I've ever seen. Especially when he cried and thanked the Lord for all those people supporting him. He is such a good boy, even quoting bible verses at his Homecoming concert. Hopefully, this guy right here won't change and that he would still remain true to himself all throughout his career.
